Student self-registration on course websites as a "free listener"

Any person who uses the Technion's Moodle system can register independently as a "free listener" for any site that exists in the system.

Please note: Teaching staff, when a Technion student/employee contacts you with a request to add him to the course website manually (for any reason) - please avoid this and alternatively instruct him to register as a "free listener" via the mailing list. The reasons for this are:

 

A. Manual registration does not reset at the end of the semester. Any student who was added manually must be deleted from the course website manually at the end of the semester. If not manually deleted, the student will continue to receive emails from the course website in the following years.

B. Registering via the mailing list automatically updates the student's status to "free listener" and this is the status that remains until he regulates his registration in certified studies

A "free listener" (guest student) is a student who is not officially registered / has not yet registered for the course. A guest student has all the rights on the course website (solving assignments, participating in the forum, etc.), but he is not entitled to receive academic credit for his participation.

Joining is done by self-registering to the course mailing list. The registration will take effect the next day.

Attached is an instructions file for students - you are invited to download and send the file to students requesting manual registration.
