Associate participants to a site using an Excel file
Step A: Preparing a participant file by groups
Create an Excel file with one column titled ID. Enter the ID numbers of the students you want to add to the course website in the column (9 digits without dashes or spaces).
To create a column of ID numbers so that they are automatically 9 digits in Excel, perform the following steps:
- Select the column.
- In "Format cells", select "Custom" and in "Type", type 000000000.
- Confirm.
Save the file in CSV comma delimited format.
Step B: Uploading participants to the course website
- Go to the course website and select "Participants" in the tabs under the course title. Click on "Enrolled users" and select "Bulk enrolments".

The following page will open:

- Attach the file prepared in step 1.
- Change the "Encoding" field to "windows-1255".
- Make sure the role is "Student".
- Click "Enroll them to my course".
In particularly large courses, the process can take a few minutes. An email will be sent confirming the operation.
