Copying content to a new moodle site
Each teacher (lecturer/practitioner/facilitator) can copy content from any of his previous websites to the new websites. The process can take time, depending on the amount of content and the size of the site.
Please note - if you need assistance in copying the content, please contact us via the link and we will be happy to help!
Here are the steps of the copying process:
1. Enter the new website, click on the arrow on the top right to open the block drawer and locate the "Quick Actions Wizard" slot.
Click on "Copy content".
2. The system will show you all the sites it finds relevant for copying. If the desired site is not in the list, you can search for the desired site by the course name/number in the search field. In the list will appear courses from the תשפ"ב moodle under the original title 2021, courses from the תשפ"ג moodle under the original title 2022 and courses from the תשפ"ד moodle under the original title 2023. After you have found the desired site - click on its link:
3. The system will copy the contents to the new site, without damaging the original site. Please be patient, the process can take up to 10 minutes. The more content the site contains, the longer the process will take. The system can be allowed to run in the background, but the window must be left open.
Please note: if the original site contains video files or zoom links - the copying process will not work. The video files must be transferred to the Panopto system and shared on the site with links only before duplicating, and in addition, the zoom links must be deleted from the original site.
If you are interested in copying a limited number of contents from another course website, there are two options:
- Copying all content to the current course website and deleting the unnecessary content (easier to do).
- Backing up the required content from the original website and restoring it to the current website. Follow the instructions here.
